Systems Analyst

This organisation plays a significant role in public safety, digital transformation, customer service delivery and the ongoing modernisation of large-scale technology platforms used by both internal teams and the public.
Due to continued investment in technology and innovation, they are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join their Technology Platforms and Solutions function.
This is an opportunity to work on business-critical systems, collaborate with Solution Architects and development teams, and contribute to the delivery of innovative technology solutions that have a real impact at a national level.
The RoleAs a Systems Analyst, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring business requirements are accurately captured, analysed and translated into high-quality technical specifications.
You will play a key role throughout the solution lifecycle, helping to shape solutions, produce project artefacts, support architecture activities and ensure successful delivery of technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
- Translate requirements into clear, testable User Stories and functional specifications.
- Create project artefacts including documentation, diagrams, data dictionaries, API guides and release notes.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, Solution Architects, developers and QA teams.
- Support the definition and documentation of solution and technical architectures.
- Review third-party deliverables and provide technical feedback.
- Assist with project planning, implementation and solution delivery activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems analysis methodologies and best practice documentation.
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates must be able to demonstrate all of the following:
- Level 8 Degree (or equivalent) on the National Framework of Qualifications with computing/computational modules completed in the final year
- Proven experience gathering business requirements and translating them into User Stories
- Experience producing project documentation and artefacts including Data Dictionaries, API Guides, Release Notes and Technical Documentation
- Experience supporting Solution Architects and Technical Architects in defining and documenting technical solutions
- Experience supporting development and QA teams throughout delivery and testing phases
- Experience reviewing third-party technical documentation and deliverables
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of relational database design and technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or MariaDB
- Knowledge of widely used data formats including JSON and XML
- Full Driving Licence
- Availability to commence from late October 2026 or shortly thereafter
