Overview
Our client is looking for a Cyber Security Delivery Lead to join their team. This is a daily rate contract role offering excellent daily rates.
The Cyber Security Delivery Lead is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity and IT security initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, securely, and to a high standard. This role is delivery-focused and hands-on, requiring strong technical leadership, adaptability, and the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of IT and security projects across multiple technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery Leadership
- Lead the delivery of cybersecurity and IT security projects from initiation through to implementation and handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet agreed quality and security standards.
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives across infrastructure, platforms, and security domains.
Technical Leadership & Hands-On Delivery
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and oversight across Microsoft, VMware, and Cisco environments.
- Support the design, build, and deployment of security controls and solutions across on?prem and cloud platforms.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex delivery and implementation challenges.
Collaboration & Vendor Management
- Work closely with internal IT teams, cybersecurity specialists, and third-party vendors to deliver secure and practical solutions.
- Coordinate activities across infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure integrated delivery outcomes.
- Manage vendor delivery to ensure solutions meet technical and operational requirements.
Risk & Security Management
- Identify, assess, and manage security risks during project delivery.
- Ensure security controls are implemented in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support security assurance activities including design reviews, implementation validation, and remediation tracking.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Engage with technical and business stakeholders to provide clear delivery updates, manage expectations, and resolve issues.
- Produce delivery status reports, risk logs, and implementation outcomes for senior stakeholders.
Standards, Frameworks & Compliance
- Ensure delivered solutions align with recognised security standards and frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, NIS2).
- Support audits, assessments, and compliance-related activities from a delivery and implementation perspective.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience leading the delivery of IT security and infrastructure projects in complex environments.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Microsoft technologies (e.g. Active Directory, Azure, M365 security tooling)
- VMware platforms (virtualisation and associated security controls)
- Cisco technologies (networking and security solutions)
- Experience working with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and NIS2.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, consultants, and cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong delivery, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset.
