Software Developer – Integration Engineer (Healthcare)

Responsibilities:
- The Integration Engineer will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and developing integrations across clinical and revenue cycle workflows within a production healthcare environment.
- This includes day‑to‑day operational support, resolving escalated incidents, monitoring engine performance, and building new interfaces to support both ongoing operations and a major Meditech Expanse implementation.
- Ensuring stable, reliable, and accurate exchange of healthcare data across the organisation.
Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with integration engines preferably the Rhapsody Integration Engine (routes, filters, communication points, error handling, scripting).
- Solid understanding of communication standards such as HL, DICOM, FHIR etc.
- Proficiency in SQL for troubleshooting, validation, and data analysis.
- Experience developing transformations using JavaScript, or Rhapsody’s native mapping tools.
- Understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, REST, SOAP, SFTP.
Notes:
An experienced systems integration engineer who has strong familiarisation with a platform other than Rhapsody would be satisfactory. They would receive familiarisation from our own team

Operational Support & Incident Resolution
- Act as the escalation point for service desk issues related to interfaces and integration workflows.
- Troubleshoot message failures, routing issues, transformation errors, and communication failures in Rhapsody.
- Collaborate with clinical application teams, revenue cycle teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to address cross‑system issues.
- Provide clear documentation of root cause, remediation steps, and incident communication.
Monitoring & Alert Response
- Perform daily monitoring of Rhapsody dashboards, communication points, message queues, and error logs.
- Respond to alerts related to message backlog, connectivity issues, or abnormal message patterns.
- Improve monitoring rules to enhance early detection and reduce operational risk.
Integration Development
- Develop and enhance HL7 integrations supporting clinical workflows such as ADT, orders, results, clinical documentation and department‑specific integrations such as Pharmacy.
- Build and maintain interfaces that support revenue cycle processes, including scheduling, billing, charge capture, claims, and financial data flows.
- Contribute by designing, developing, and testing new interfaces required for go‑live.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain detailed documentation of interface configurations, troubleshooting steps, operational procedures, and support guides.
- Contribute to internal knowledgebases.
