Overview

Our client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team. This is a daily rate contract role offering excellent daily rates. 

  • Location: Cork
  • Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid attendance pattern

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Manage Cisco routing, switching, and wireless network environments.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewall solutions.
  • Support and enhance Operational Technology (OT) network environments, ensuring secure integration with enterprise IT networks.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security, proactively resolving issues and risks.
  • Lead network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot complex network incidents across IT and OT environments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and project teams to deliver network-related projects and enhancements.
  • Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.

Key Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Network Engineering 
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, and wireless networks.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Palo Alto firewalls in production environments.
  • Professional experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) networks and network segmentation between IT and OT environments.
  • Strong understanding of network security, VPNs, firewall policies, and access control principles.
  • Experience supporting highly available, business-critical network infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success delivering network upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN, WAN, wireless, and hybrid network environments.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
