eir business talent are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Business Analyst. This is a day rate contract position located with our client in Dublin/Cork. 
 
About the Role
A large national utility is delivering a major customer and metering transformation programme and is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the programme during its procurement and early delivery phases.
The programme includes the selection of a new solution, Proof of Concept (PoC) activities with vendors, and a phased rollout of new metering capabilities across the network over a multi-year period. The successful contractor will play a key role in shaping requirements, supporting vendor engagement, and helping transition the programme from procurement into delivery.
This role sits within IT but is closely aligned with core business operations in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis and documentation of business and functional requirements
  • Support Proof of Concept (PoC) activities with shortlisted vendors
  • Work with stakeholders to flesh out detailed requirements and define success criteria
  • Support vendor engagement and selection, including solution evaluation and clarification
  • Define end?to?end business processes (as-is / to-be)
  • Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams and third?party suppliers
  • Support delivery through design, build, testing (SIT/UAT) and implementation readiness
  • Ensure alignment with governance, regulatory and operational standards
  • Support planning for a large scale, multi year rollout programme

Required Experience
Essential

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst on large scale IT or digital transformation programmes
  • Background in regulated or complex operational environments
  • Experience supporting procurement phases, PoCs and vendor engagement
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
  • Strong requirements and process documentation capability
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models

Desirable

  • Experience with customer-facing, billing or metering-related programmes
  • Exposure to large?scale rollout or infrastructure?enabled change
  • Familiarity with common BA tools (process modelling, backlog management, collaboration tools)
