eir business talent is currently seeking applicants for a Red Hat Linux Administrator (Senior) for our client based in Dublin
Red Hat Linux Administrator (Senior)
Location : Dublin
Duration : 6+ months
Mandatory experience (or equivalent):
- 4+ years extensive professional experience in senior administration of Red Hat Linux in an X-86 environment
- 3+ years’ experience with configuring and troubleshooting IPTables-based network security
- 4+ years’ experience implementing Red Hat cluster services
Key Experience :
- Implementing Red Hat in a VMware environment
- Working to provide 24×7×365 uptime
- Build and configure Oracle 19c RAC environments using Red Hat on x86
- Designing and implementing server solutions with strict IPTables firewall rules
- Managing technical infrastructure for SAP financial systems in a Linux environment
- Configuration and management of ManageEngine Operations Manager
- Managing user access and system settings on Red Hat Linux environments
Role Activities Include (but not limited to):
- Continuous monitoring of hardware and OS/monitoring software
- Updating/upgrading Red Hat Linux versions as required
- Managing Red Hat license subscription compliance
- Day-to-day server management including firmware upgrades
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring backups
- Liaising with maintenance contractors for system outages (planned/unplanned)
- Implementing & monitoring security per guidelines
- Recommending/implementing hardware configuration enhancements
- Working with suppliers to install/commission new hardware
- Regular + exception reporting to Operations Manager
- Monitoring synchronous data replication between the two locations
- Periodic DR procedure testing
- Liaison with Windows support groups for cross-platform issues
- Providing/updating best practice guidelines on deployment and config management
- Skills transfer to staff
- Any other tasks deemed appropriate to the role
Candidates should hold appropriate RTWs for Ireland i.e. Stamp1G Spousal, Stamp 4, Irish/British/EU passport.
