Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Coordinator to join a growing infrastructure and engineering services organisation. This role offers excellent exposure to commercial operations, contract administration, invoice management and project support within a fast-paced project environment.
Ideal for a recent graduate or someone early in their commercial career, the position provides the opportunity to develop practical quantity surveying and commercial management skills while working alongside experienced professionals on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the commercial team with day-to-day contract and project administration.
  • Coordinate invoice processing, ensuring documentation is accurate and progressed efficiently.
  • Assist with purchase order management and commercial record keeping.
  • Support month-end commercial activities, reporting and reconciliations.
  • Maintain commercial databases, project records and contract documentation.
  • Assist with pricing activities, tender reviews and cost analysis where required.
  • Monitor project expenditure and help track costs against budgets.
  • Support subcontractor administration and commercial compliance activities.
  • Produce reports and track key commercial metrics using Excel and other Microsoft tools.
  • Liaise with project teams, finance teams and external stakeholders to ensure commercial processes run smoothly.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics or a related discipline (or currently studying towards one).
  • Previous experience in a commercial administration, project support, construction, utilities, engineering or infrastructure environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent numerical, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a commercial or quantity surveying career path.
