Microsoft Purview Specialist – Day Rate Contract (6 Months)
eir business talent are currently partnering with a public sector organisation to hire an experienced Microsoft Purview Specialist for an initial 6-month day rate contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
This is a hybrid role based in Dublin, requiring 3 days per week onsite.

- Hybrid working: 3 days onsite / 2 remote
- Location: Dublin (city-based office)
- Start date: MUST be available to start on June 15th at the latest (non-negotiable)
Role Overview
This role will focus on the design, implementation, and ongoing support of Microsoft Purview across both M365 and Azure environments.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders to improve data governance, compliance, and security practices, while delivering best practices and supporting implementation across multiple environments.
Mandatory Requirements (Essential – must be met)
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong hands-on experience across:
- Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance
- Microsoft Purview (M365 and Azure)
Proven expertise in:
- Information Protection
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Data Lifecycle Management
- Records Management
- eDiscovery
- Insider Risk Management
Experience working with Microsoft security solutions, data protection, and system security
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline
- Available to start by June 15th at the latest (mandatory requirement)
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage Microsoft Purview environments across M365 and Azure
- Work with stakeholders to review existing environments and recommend improvements
- Design and implement data governance and compliance solutions
- Develop and document best practice guidelines
- Support implementation of agreed use cases across the organisation
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to internal teams
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and planning sessions
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with public sector or regulated environments
Microsoft certification such as:
- SC-400 – Information Protection Administrator Associate
- Experience implementing Purview solutions in complex or multi-entity environments
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and related compliance standards
