Infrastructure Administrator/Engineer (Hybrid)

Location : Dublin – Hybrid 
Duration : 6 months 

Role Purpose
Responsible for managing, supporting, and deploying hybrid infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises VMware environments, ensuring secure, resilient, and highly available services.
 
Key Responsibilities
Azure Design, Implementation & Administration

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available Azure solutions aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.
  • Design and support Azure architectures covering Landing Zones, networking, identity, security, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead end-to-end Azure deployments and migrations using Infrastructure as Code, ensuring governance, compliance, performance, and cost optimisation.
  • Administer and support Azure Landing Zone environments, Azure Front Door, and Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Deploy, configure, manage, and maintain Windows and Linux Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Manage Azure Front Door routing, health probes, Web Application Firewall policies, and global traffic distribution.
  • Configure and support Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks, subnets, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, WAF, VPN Gateway, DNS, and ExpressRoute.
  • Manage Azure Storage Accounts, Azure Files, Backup, Site Recovery, monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery services.
  • Implement Azure governance through Management Groups, subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, Azure Policy, tagging, and resource standards.
  • Monitor resource utilisation, performance, availability, security posture, and costs, implementing appropriate optimisation measures.
  • Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, networking, security, availability, and performance issues.

 Azure Security & Identity

  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including users, groups, enterprise applications, service principals, and access permissions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Conditional Access and Multi-Factor Authentication policies.
  • Implement and manage Privileged Identity Management for privileged and just-in-time access.
  • Manage Azure Key Vault, including secrets, certificates, encryption keys, access policies, and RBAC permissions.
  • Implement identity and access-management controls based on least-privilege and Zero Trust principles.
  • Support Azure security compliance, vulnerability assessment, remediation, and security-hardening activities.
  • Monitor and improve the Azure security posture using Microsoft Defender for Cloud, security alerts, recommendations, and compliance dashboards.
  • Collaborate with security, governance, and audit teams to support risk assessments, regulatory compliance, and audit initiatives.

VMware & On-Prem Infrastructure

  • Administer VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter environments.
  • Manage virtual server deployments, storage, backups, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Support server migrations between VMware and Azure.

Windows Server Administration

  • Support Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and patch management.

L2/L3 Support

  • Resolve escalated infrastructure and cloud incidents.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in major incident management and problem resolution.

Project & Change Delivery

  • Deliver cloud and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Support migrations, DR testing, and platform modernisation projects.
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.

Preferred Certifications

  • AZ-104 Azure Administrator
  • AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect
  • VMware VCP
  • ITIL Foundation

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in Azure, VMware, and Windows Infrastructure Administration.
  • Strong experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.

 
Candidates should hold appropriate RTWs for Ireland i.e. Stamp1G Dependant, Stamp 4, Irish/British/EU passport.
