Cloud Services Administrator – Microsoft Azure & Terraform
 

  • Full time hybrid contract with our client in Dublin 1
  • Subject to Garda vetting process

 
Our client in the public sector requires the services of an experienced Cloud Services Administrator to work with their Operational and Project teams to deliver change into their Azure Network following their standards and principles.
 
 
Mandatory requirements

  • It is a mandatory requirement that you have the equivalent of 4-6 years’ experience overall as an Azure focused Cloud Services Administrator.
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform scripting is necessary for this role.

 
Experience, Competencies & Skillsets

  • Proven experience in cloud computing (Microsoft Azure)
  • Proven experience in cloud networking automation
  • Proven experience in terraform Infrastructure as code automation
  • Experience with Azure networking tools (V-WAN, VNET, BGP, etc.)
  • Proven understanding of DevSecOps concepts, and has implemented or working knowledge of using those skills in an already existing framework
  • Strong knowledge for end-to-end DevOps automation via CI/CD pipelines to deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and usage of tools (e.g., ADO, GitHub/Actions, Jenkins, or equivalents)
  • Proven ability to manage infrastructure environments, configurations, and IaC scripts to support application pattern and workflows via self- service automation
  • Strong understanding of the design, implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure in multi-region and multi-cloud environments
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell, YAML, KQL, or other
  • Proficiency in Waterfall and Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc. delivery methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience in testing automation harnesses and frameworks
  • Understanding and ability to ensure operational stability and enforcement of security controls via Policy-as-Code and IaC automation

 
Specific qualifications are not required for this role but candidates should have a diploma/degree qualification in IT.
 
Key Deliverables

  • Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) automation (in particular with Terraform) to create IaC patterns and
  • Utilize modern software DevOps and CI/CD tooling, such as Azure DevOps, Git, YAML, etc., to provision infrastructure resources and prevent configuration
  • Investigate and resolve complex cloud infrastructure related issues and recommend and develop solutions to issues and create documentation of reengineering processes as
  • Manage firewall technologies and develop automation workflows for network firewalls to enhance security protocols and integrate firewall management within the broader security
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Policy-as-Code (PaC) for Azure cloud environments to configure, detect, remediate, and enforce security standards, using security policies based upon CIS/NIST industry benchmarks.
  • Support the design, development, implementation and optimisation of standardised CI/CD pipelines for promoting software into higher environments through validation and operational gating, and support teams in adopting DevSecOps automation and best
  • Adapting CI/CD processes to meet the needs of a variety of Product teams, ensuring compliance with security and process quality
  • Selecting and deploying appropriate DevSecOps tooling to facilitate Continuous
  • Trial and evaluate new platforms, languages, frameworks and tools for CI/CD
  • Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant
