Overview
eir business talent are currently seeking applicants for a Cloud Delivery Lead. This is a day rate contract position located with our client in Cork. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days onsite per week.
We’re looking for an experienced technology delivery leader to take ownership of a substantial portfolio of Azure cloud projects. The successful person will sit above the day-to-day engineering activity, taking responsibility for delivery, people, capacity, budgets, priorities and stakeholder management across approximately 15–16 concurrent projects and an 8–10 person cloud team.
We’re particularly interested in people who have progressed from a technical cloud/infrastructure background into programme and delivery leadership. This is not a hands-on Cloud Engineer or Cloud Architect role. We’re looking for someone who understands Azure infrastructure technically, but whose recent experience has focused on leading teams, managing complex programmes and taking accountability for delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead approximately 15–16 concurrent cloud projects
- Manage a cloud team of approximately 8–10 people
- Own project plans, priorities, resourcing and budgets
- Manage capacity across multiple competing workstreams
- Lead and develop cloud engineering and architecture resources
- Manage dependencies, delivery risks and escalations
- Work closely with senior technical and business stakeholders
- Challenge priorities and push back when demand exceeds capacity
- Provide oversight and direction across an Azure cloud environment
Experience:
- Strong Cloud Programme / Delivery Management experience
- Experience managing multiple concurrent technology projects
- Proven people and resource management experience
- Budget and delivery accountability
- Strong senior stakeholder management skills
- Good technical understanding of Microsoft Azure
- Enough technical depth to challenge Architects and Engineers without needing to do the engineering yourself
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code knowledge is beneficial, but not the main requirement
