eir business talent are currently seeking applicants for an experienced Solution Architect. This is a day rate contractor position located with our client in Dublin. This is a hybrid role.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in a large-scale national transformation programme involving payments, ticketing, customer transactions and revenue management systems.
This is a highly visible position operating at the intersection of business, technology and governance. The successful candidate will help shape how multiple enterprise systems integrate with a new externally managed platform while ensuring critical operational, financial and reporting processes continue to function effectively. This role will suit an experienced architect who can quickly understand complex environments, challenge assumptions, influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions in situations where requirements, ownership and operating models are evolving.
The Opportunity
You will join a team of architects and business analysts tasked with assessing a complex landscape of legacy applications, integrations and financial data flows. Many systems have evolved independently over a number of years and are deeply embedded within business operations.
A significant element of the role involves:
- Understanding existing business and technology dependencies.
- Challenging stakeholders on the continued need for legacy solutions.
- Defining future-state architecture and operating models.
- Working with external parties responsible for customer transactions and financial data processing.
- Managing competing stakeholder interests and driving alignment across multiple workstreams.
- Providing architecture leadership across business, application, data and technology domains.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead solution architecture activities across business, application, data and infrastructure domains.
- Assess enterprise systems, integrations, data flows and operational processes.
- Define target-state architecture, integration patterns and transition roadmaps.
- Work closely with business leaders, finance stakeholders and technology teams to identify simplification opportunities.
- Produce architecture artefacts, roadmaps, impact assessments and governance documentation.
- Influence key decisions relating to systems integration, operational ownership and service delivery.
- Collaborate with external programme partners and third-party providers.
- Support architecture governance, risk management and design review processes.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Solution Architect within large enterprise environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to challenge senior business stakeholders constructively.
- Experience working on major transformation, integration or migration programmes.
- Strong understanding of:
- Microsoft Windows Server environments
- Microsoft Azure
- Enterprise integration patterns
- Data architecture and data flows
- Hybrid infrastructure environments
- Experience analysing complex application landscapes and legacy systems.
- Experience producing architecture roadmaps, target-state designs and transition plans.
- Ability to rapidly understand business processes and technical dependencies.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within payment processing, ticketing, financial transaction or revenue management environments.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS or payment security frameworks.
- Understanding of enterprise networking concepts, particularly Cisco-based environments.
- Awareness of cybersecurity best practices and secure architecture principles.
- Exposure to SAP-integrated environments and financial systems.
- TOGAF certification or equivalent architecture framework experience.
- Experience working within regulated or public-sector organisations.
