VP of Engineering (Remote)
I’m partnering with a high-growth, enterprise B2B SaaS business that helps some of the world’s best-known brands bring products to market globally, faster and with lower risk — by embedding regulatory intelligence directly into product workflows.
They’re hiring a VP of Engineering to lead the next chapter of scale, execution and innovation across a distributed engineering organisation, reporting directly to the CTO.
What makes this role genuinely different: it’s not “just” a VP role. This leadership team is investing in AI-assisted and agentic software development — but with a serious focus on doing it properly in production: maintainability, reliability, security, architecture, operational trust.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and evolve the engineering organisation: structure, priorities, operating rhythm, delivery discipline
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Security and Exec leadership on roadmap and investment decisions
- Build a strong leadership layer (EMs/Directors/Senior ICs) and create a high-performance culture
- Drive excellence across architecture, developer experience, observability, resilience, incident management and platform maturity
- Define the guardrails for responsible use of coding agents in production engineering environments
- Own engineering planning: budget, headcount, resourcing, and balancing near-term delivery with long-term scale
What they’re looking for
- Proven engineering leader who has scaled teams through managers and directors
- Strong technical credibility — able to guide architecture, quality, reliability and platform evolution
- Background in modern SaaS / cloud-native / product-led environments
- Experience with AWS + React/Next.js + Java + Python
- A clear point of view on AI-assisted / agentic development (benefits, risks, trade-offs)
- Strong grasp of production realities: observability, resilience, security, compliance
