eir evo talent is currently seeking applicants for a Network Engineer. This is a contract position located with our client in Cork.
 
Network Engineer
 
Location : Cork – Office Based; 4 days’ (10Hrs / day) work and 3 days off
Duration : 6+ months
 
Your responsibilities:

  • Able to perform self-sustaining and work with little to no oversight
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Switches like Cisco Nexus 9K,7K,5K and 2K, Stack switches.
  • Configuring, troubleshooting, and handling EIGRP and BGP routing protocols
  • Able to work independently and efficiently on Cisco Wireless LAN controllers and access points.
  • Standardizing the access rules across the environment and implement best practices in the firewalls.
  • Facilitate network and security device refresh with a focus on capacity, manageability, and security of new and existing security infrastructure
  • Handle shipping and logistics requirement at local sites
  • Communicate with users when needed
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability

 
Key skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Good knowledge on handling Cisco, Nexus and Brocade networking devices
  • Good understanding of Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • Good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 concepts
  • Good understanding of OSPF and BGP
  • Experience in Cisco wireless LAN controller management and wireless issue troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end traffic flow for network applications
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational and mentoring skills

 
Good to have:

  • Network design and architecture knowledge
  • Knowledge in automation of the network tasks.

 
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Good knowledge on handling Cisco, Nexus and Brocade networking devices
  • Good understanding of Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • Good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 concepts
  • Good understanding of OSPF and BGP
  • Experience in Cisco wireless LAN controller management and wireless issue troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end traffic flow for network applications
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently

 
Candidates should hold appropriate RTWs for Ireland i.e. Stamp1G Spousal, Stamp 4, Irish/British/EU passport.
