Business Analyst
Location : Mostly remote – but 1- 2 days per month required in the Client’s office in Ballina, Co. Mayo
Duration : 12-month contract with further extension
Key Deliverables
- Create, update and maintain consistent design patterns and decisions across the organisation to support the corporate plan themes
- Identify, document and manage the needs and requirements of the business and other stake holders by liaising directly with business users and process owners to understand and prioritise business requirements.
- Analyse requirements and collaborate closely with stakeholders, developers, suppliers to create the detailed Functional Design and Process Design documents to support project
- Assess capability gaps, identify relationships and dependencies between new and existing systems and evaluate proposed solutions against enterprise architecture principles and
- Produce appropriate documentation to ensure understanding and facilitate sign-off by using Plain English, diagrams, process flows, other techniques and scenarios,
- Provide necessary guidance on business requirements and design documents to the development team and user acceptance test
- Develop business analysis communication and requirements management plans, participate in and potentially lead design planning meetings and work with project managers to define the business analysis tasks for a
- Manage business requirements and process mapping across the business units using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis concepts.
- Assist the business in determining which requirements and processes can be made more efficient, automated, simplified, eliminated,
- Work with the project manager and project team to ensure that acceptability criteria are being met and to manage scope creep and change requests.
- Support best practice by introducing new business analysis tools, document templates and checklists for the
- Support and participate in multiple projects of varying types and complexity, drafting and updating relevant documentation as required.
- Work full project lifecycle involving both Waterfall and Agile development approaches as
- Review artefacts produced by third parties, including design documentation, user stories, diagrams, process flows, scenarios etc to ensure that they meet expected standards.

- Requirements Gathering and Business Analysis
- Practical experience of leading on requirements gathering (UI/UX, Functional & Non-Functional) for service impact and designs
- Demonstrate, creation and communication of Customer Flows, Customer Persona’s, journey maps, service blueprints, data mapping and To-Be Processes to support future service
- Leading the preparation of detailed specifications and solution
- Experience conducting feasibility studies, high-level and detailed business models, and solution options
- Business and Digital Transformation Experience
- Experience as a BA working on large transformation initiatives covering design, development, test and deployment
- Experience using Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Experience in standardising and mitigating risk by identifying common business solutions that can be used across the organisation, ensuring a holistic enterprise-wide approach to customer service delivery, enhancing effectiveness, reducing costs and utilising its capacity to deliver even better
- Experience establishing and articulating the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, defining strategies, validating and justifying business
- Experience working in a DevOps environment, with an understanding of collaboration between development and operations
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with practical experience of core business analyst activities using various tools and methods, including process mapping, data requirements mapping, requirements gathering, solution options appraisals and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
- Experience of identifying and explaining issues and solutions clearly and effectively. Excellent influencing skills with the confidence to deal with staff effectively at all levels throughout the organisation. This includes the production of high-quality documentation.
- Experience of liaising with management regarding the delivery of process and organisational
- Tools and Innovation Awareness
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite (including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, Visio)
- Knowledge and awareness of current trends, techniques and pursue new innovations as well as demonstrating a broad knowledge of available business
- Experience in leveraging brainstorming, mind-mapping, and focus groups for user engagement and decision
