eir business talent are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Data Integration Engineer. This is a day rate contractor position located with our client in Dublin 1.

Our client is launching a major Finance automation programme and is seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer to join at the project initiation phase. This role is ideal for a technical SME who can shape solution design while also delivering hands‑on implementation, low‑level design, and end‑to‑end development across data engineering and workflow automation.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for designing and implementing automated data ingestion, transformation, and reconciliation pipelines across multiple Finance data sources. Working alongside Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and automation teams, you will help define the technical solution from day one and ensure the resulting workflows are scalable, secure, and operationally robust.
The project centres on automating Finance business processes, requiring strong SQL expertise, experience with data warehouse technologies (Fabric, Synapse, or similar), and the ability to integrate data effectively with the wider automation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to solution design from project initiation, partnering with Solution Architects and BAs to shape technical direction.
  • Design and build automated data pipelines across SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse/Fabric, APIs, file‑based sources, and Microsoft data technologies.
  • Develop robust validation, reconciliation, and quality‑check logic to ensure accurate daily Finance data processing.
  • Normalise and prepare structured and semi‑structured datasets (CSV, XLSX, JSON, XML) for downstream workflows.
  • Produce high‑quality Low‑Level Design (LLD) documentation and maintain alignment with architectural standards.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to ensure seamless hand‑off into Power Automate, Logic Apps, or equivalent orchestration tooling.
  • Implement secure, reliable, and monitored pipelines with strong exception handling and operational controls.
  • Work with Finance stakeholders to understand business rules and ensure solutions meet operational needs.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years’ experience in data engineering or data integration using SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, or related Microsoft platforms.
  • Strong SQL background and proven experience with data warehouse / data lake / Fabric / Synapse environments.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and building automated ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation and Low‑Level Designs.
  • Experience working with structured and semi‑structured datasets, APIs, and file‑based data feeds.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data governance, security, and operational controls.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with AI‑enabled automation or Azure AI services.
  • Background in Finance operations, reconciliation, or reporting automation.
  • Knowledge of Power Automate, Logic Apps, or workflow orchestration tools.
